First Grade Spring Production is a Hit!

This Friday morning, parents, grandparents and friends had the pleasure of participating in one of Collegiate’s more delightful traditions. The 1st Grade Spring Play is a heartwarming and impressive display of obvious hard work and practice by some of the youngest members of the Collegiate community.
Throughout the production of The House that the Pigs Built, based on the classic tale, The Three Little Pigs, the 1st Graders sang songs and told the story of the pigs as they tried to rebuild their house after the wolves blew it down.

This charming adaptation has the cast visiting with a variety of famous fairytale characters, including Rapunzel, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, the Three Bears and Puss in Boots. With the help of their friends, the three little pigs eventually ended up with a nice new home.

This week, we enjoyed a performance by students from classes taught by Susie Leahy, Laura Matthews and Sarah Williamson. Next week, we will have the opportunity to see the classes of Nicola Byford, Jackie O’Toole and Sarah Smith.

Instrumental to the spectacular production are other Collegiate faculty and staff: Christine Hoffman and Mike Boyd (music); Holly Smith (art) and Stephanie Smith (dance); Kate Parthemos and Brooke Tribble (costumes); and Erin Barclay and Jon Shelley (sound).
