New! Virtual Waiting Rooms
CampBrain now uses a virtual queue to give families fair, low-stress access to registration. While the link below is active immediately, our camps will only appear at 12:00 p.m. on the registration date. When the site is busy, you’ll enter a virtual waiting room where you can:
  • See your spot in line and estimated wait time
  • Stay on the page or return within 10 minutes
  • Automatically enter registration when it’s your turn
During high-traffic times, early visitors may see a countdown pre-queue, with spots randomly assigned for fair access.

New! Summer Quest Carpool!
We’re excited to offer a carpool service for all students arriving and departing campus. Registered families will be emailed additional details.
  • Drop-off: 9:00–9:30 a.m. and 12:45–1:00 p.m.
  • Pick-up: 12:00–12:15 p.m. and 3:30–3:45 p.m.
Afternoon and all-day camps will conclude at 3:30 p.m.

Students attending camps at the Robins Campus will be transported from the Mooreland Campus and returned there at the conclusion of camp.

FAQs

List of 8 frequently asked questions.

  • When does the registration process begin for summer camps?

Registration, including for new families, opens on Thursday, February 5 at 12 p.m.
Priority registration for returning families and the Collegiate community will be sent an email with their personalized registration link before this date and time.
  • Can I register for camp online?

Yes, a link for online registration is posted in the top right corner of this page.
  • Can I pay for summer camps with a credit card?

Yes, we do accept credit cards and checks. We are no longer offering student billing though FACTS for Collegiate families.
Checks should be made out to "Collegiate Summer Quest"
    The Collegiate School/Summer Quest
    103 North Mooreland Rd
    Richmond, VA 23229

  • How does the deposit process work when I register my child for camps?

Prior to May 15, each participant must submit a non-refundable, 50% deposit for each camp for which your child is registering. (Example: If your child registers for four, $230 camps, you must submit a deposit of $115 X 4 = $460.) The total deposit (if your child registers for multiple camps or if you have multiple children registering for camps) can be paid online or by check written out to "Collegiate Summer Quest." The deposit is nonrefundable unless your child does not get placed in a camp because it is already full. The Summer Quest Office cannot reserve a spot for your child until we receive the registration form and a 50% deposit for each registered camp. The deposit is a portion of the total tuition for each camp; therefore, if you pay a $115 deposit for a $230 camp, your remaining balance is $115. The remaining balance for all camps is due by May 15 in order to hold your child's spot in that camp.
  • What is the May 15 payment deadline, and can I still register for camps after this date?

Yes, you can still register for any Summer Quest camp after May 15, but many camps will be filled by that date. When you register for a camp after May 15, you must submit the full camp fee (rather than just the 50% deposit).

Prior to May 15, you may reserve your child's spot in a camp by paying a non-refundable deposit of 50% per camp. By May 15, you must pay the remaining balance due to continue to hold your child's enrollment in that camp. If we do not receive the remainder of the tuition by May 15, your child will be removed from the camp and that spot will be filled with a camper from the waiting list. (Many camps' enrollments fill prior to May 15.)

The 50% per camp deposit is nonrefundable unless a camp is cancelled by Summer Quest. If a participant chooses to change his or her registration, a written notice must be sent to summerquest@collegiate-va.org two weeks prior to the start of the camp. The two-week notice will qualify the participant for a payment voucher, minus the deposit, that must be used during the current summer. If a two-week notice is not sent, no payment voucher or refund will be issued. The camp credit cannot be transferred to next year but may be applied to a sibling camp.
  • Many camps fill their enrollments very early in the Spring; so, how do I know if a camp is full already and how does the waiting list process work?

If you are trying to register online and a camp is full, the system will automatically notify you that you are being placed on a waiting list. If you are placed on a waiting list, no payment is due at that time. If a space becomes available, the Summer Quest Office will contact you to see if you would still like to enroll in that camp.
  • How do the new Campbrain virtual waiting rooms work during registration?

CampBrain now uses virtual waiting rooms to give families fair, low-stress access to registration. Camps appear at 12:00 p.m., and if the site is busy, you’ll:
    • See your spot in line and wait time
    • Stay on the page or return within 10 minutes
    • Be automatically redirected when it’s your turn
During high-traffic periods, a countdown pre-queue may appear, with spots randomly assigned for fair access.

  • Does Collegiate Summer Quest staff provide sunscreen or apply (or reapply) sunscreen to campers?

No, parents/guardians should apply sunscreen (if needed) on your camper prior to the start of camp. Please note that the Collegiate Summer Quest staff will NOT be responsible for providing sunscreen, applying or reapplying sunscreen on your camper. Your camper will need to be able to apply and reapply the sunscreen on their own. If sunscreen is sent with your camper, it should be placed in a sealed plastic bag, labeled with your child's first and last name and should be stored in their personal bag/backpack. Collegiate Summer Quest staff will NOT collect or store sunscreen brought in by campers. You may also want to provide your student with a labeled hat, sun shirt or other sun protective clothing as well as a water bottle.

"As the Director of Summer Quest, I work closely with our teachers and coaches to design a summer filled with programs that challenge students mentally, physically, and socially. It has been incredibly rewarding to watch our educators thoughtfully conceptualize, plan, and execute their camps. They consistently create an environment that fosters learning, exploration, and fun."
