Alum Named University of Richmond Head Field Hockey Coach

Jamie Whitten Montgomery '03 was named University of Richmond's head field hockey coach. She will begin her position upon completion of the season at Wake Forest University, where she currently serves as an assistant coach. 
Ms. Montgomery brings a wealth of experience, having played for Wake Forest as an undergraduate, as well as being a member of the U.S. Field Hockey Junior National Team from 2004-06. In 2013, she joined the U.S. Women's National Team and competed on the team through summer 2015. 

During her time at Collegiate, Ms. Montgomery was a member of the varsity field hockey team for four years. In those four seasons, the field hockey team won a VISAA state championship in 2001 and two LIS championships in 2001 and 2002. Ms. Montgomery secured a host of awards, including first team All-LIS her junior and senior years, VISAA field hockey player of the year in 2001 and 2002, state tournament MVP her senior year, first-team high school All-American and runner-up for Richmond Times-Dispatch scholar-athlete. She was inducted into the Collegiate Athletic Hall of Fame in November 2014.
