Seniors Celebrate Feast of Juul Tradition

Collegiate School senior boys gathered with their teachers last evening for the annual tradition of Feast of Juul that kicks off the holiday season.
The event, begun in 1987, started with Upper School faculty serving dinner to seniors in a decorated McFall Hall. Parent volunteers transformed the dining space into a Nordic scene filled with large trees, real stuffed animals, twinkly lights and swords — reminiscent of Game of Thrones meets Winter Wonderland. Live music entertained the crowd before and during dinner.

After the meal, seniors good-naturedly roasted and toasted faculty members before turning over the mike to the teachers, who revealed a tidbit about each student that he thought the faculty didn’t know. The evening ended with warm wishes for a happy holiday season.

The seniors then switched to casual clothes to compete in games in the gyms and play video games and engage in other activities in the Upper School halls. Well after midnight, students and their faculty chaperones boarded buses for a trip to a local restaurant for breakfast. Then, everyone headed home for a well-earned rest.

The 2017 Collegiate holiday season has officially begun!
