Lower School Experiences Diwali, India’s Festival of Lights

Collegiate students in the Lower School learned about Diwali, a five-day festival of lights, which is one of India’s biggest holidays and is celebrated worldwide by Hindus, Sikhs and Jains.

The Lower School gathered in a Town Hall this afternoon for a book gathering to discuss The Diwali Gift by Shweta Chopra and Shuchi Mehta that students and their teachers have been reading to learn about this Indian tradition. Upper School students Akum Dhillon, Esha Mittal and Mohith Dhillon and Middle School student Anjun Dhillon performed traditional dances at the Town Hall. In addition, many individual classes had relatives of students visit and share their Diwali experiences.
