Junior Kindergarten Celebrates Persian New Year

Afshin and Shahrazad Mohammadi, parents of Collegiate School Junior Kindergarten student Andreas Mohammadi, shared how they celebrate Norwruz, the Persian New Year, in their home.
The holiday has been celebrated for more than 3,000 years in Western Asia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Black Sea Basin and the Balkans.

The Mohammadis shared their Haft-Seen table that displays specific items that begin with "s" in Farsi and symbolize different wishes for the new year.

"It was an exciting start to our day!" said JK teacher Ann Woods Cutchins.
