Celebrating Student-Athletes on NLI Signing Day

Collegiate Head of School Penny Evins, Athletic Director Karen Doxey, coaches and families gathered at the Robins Campus to celebrate four student-athletes from the Class of 2021 signing National Letters of Intent or Commitment Documents to continue their careers as NCAA athletes. They join thirteen classmates who signed in the fall and winter. Congrats, Cougars! You make us proud.
Laila G., Softball, Dickinson College
“Like a seasoned cast of a stage production, Laila has played all the roles to perfection. She has never shied away from a challenge, and jumped right into a starting role with us as an eighth grader. As a captain, she has guided younger players, continued to excel on the field and even given needed advice to her coach. I can't wait to watch her take on this exciting new role at Dickinson and we are all ready for your next act.”
- Robby Turner, Head Coach

Jack S., Lacrosse, Hampden-Sydney College
“It is really fun when you get to see passion meet potential. We have had the privilege of watching Jack grow up on and off the field -  an athlete, a gifted musician and a sensitive and caring leader. As Jack transitioned into a senior leader, he worked hard, he kept his poise and his passion. It is not a surprise that this is happening, we have all seen this coming.
- Andrew Stanley, Head Coach

Will H., Lacrosse, Colorado College
“Will is a passionate, driven competitor with an incredibly strong desire to succeed for his team. Will’s willingness to give all of himself - physically, mentally and emotionally, is an incredible gift that so many struggle to share with others. He is going to be a very successful college attacker.
- Andrew Stanley, Head Coach

Nkosi B., Football, University of Richmond
“His presence was quiet in nature, but it started to speak volumes out on the football field. Despite injuries, he kept battling on the field. He led the whole team in his footwork, as well as in his commitment to himself and his growth and development. He is a mountain of a man and carries himself very well.”
- Mark Palyo, Head Coach
