Students Track Spread of COVID-19 Across Countries

On the first day of remote learning, Collegiate Upper School students enrolled in the Global Public Health senior Capstone worked in pairs to find the same COVID-19 data points on assigned countries: Italy, China, USA, Spain, Germany, France, South Korea and Iran. The students entered their findings into a template enabling quick comparison and simplified data sharing among the eight countries.
While presenting over Zoom, students talked through key insights into each country's current status, compared and contrasted situations and even contributed personal stories of family experiences in other countries.

The students continually referenced the Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University to actively watch how numbers were adjusting to ongoing developments around the world. Their work in the course will continue to monitor the spread of the pandemic.
