Collegiate Hosts Students from Partner School in Mexico

Collegiate School has welcomed eight students and two teachers from our partner school in Mexico this week to experience life in the Middle School and with their Collegiate host families.
While at Collegiate, the students from Colegio Carol Baur have been attending classes and sports practices and events with their Middle School hosts. They visited the sights of Williamsburg on Thursday. This morning during a Middle School assembly, they gave a presentation, engaged students in a craft and performed a traditional dance. The group heads home tomorrow.

The strong partnership with Carol Baur, now in its 12th year, offers students at both schools the chance to learn and understand the true meaning of global acceptance and what it means to be a global citizen, says Middle School Spanish teacher Daniela Guzman, who helped facilitate the students’ visit.

“And, of course, many of these kids will develop global friendships with each other that will last and be treasured for a lifetime,” she said.
