Three classes of Collegiate School 1st Graders performed their spring play, The House That the Pigs Built, and brought the house down this morning in Estes Building.
Based on the classic tale The Three Little Pigs, the 1st Graders, taught by Susie Leahy, Sarah Williamson and Nicola Byford, sang songs to tell the story of the pigs as they tried to rebuild their house after the wolves blew it down.
The 59-member cast visited with a variety of famous fairytale characters, including Rapunzel, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, the Three Bears and Puss in Boots. With the help of their friends, the three little pigs eventually ended up with a nice new home.
The rapt audience of parents and friends clapped, laughed and roared their approval, especially when the 1st Graders sang Lean on Me by Bill Withers to end the performance.
Assisting in the production were Lower School teachers Christine Hoffman (music), Holly Smith (art) and Stephanie Smith (dance), as well as fine arts assistant Kate Parthemos (costumes).
