Honors Theater Class Presents Annual Winter Play

Collegiate School’s Oates Theater will be transformed into a black box setting for the annual Upper School winter play next week. This year student actors will perform “Photosynthesis and Dramamine,” a collection of works by Christopher Durang and Jane Martin, on Thursday, Jan. 12 and Friday, Jan. 13 at 7:30 p.m.
The quirky pieces are connected through their comedic tone and focus on character, speaking to both the light and dark of human nature. For this production, audience members will sit on the Oates Theater stage facing the house. Using a simple and unadorned black box setting allows the audience to experience a more pure form of theater, says Steve Perigard, Collegiate’s Upper School Theater Director.

The performance, produced by student directors Bobbie Edmunds, Anna Galanides, Olivia Laskin, Margaret Wadsworth and Michael Warker, features Upper Schoolers onstage and behind the scenes.

Admission is free and seating is first come, first served. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

Please note: The material is adult in nature and intended for Upper School (age 14 and up) and adult audiences only.
