Students Earn Prestigious Art Competition Honors
For 94 years, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have stood as the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens. This year, several Collegiate students earned gold, silver and honorable mention honors in the art category.
Last year, a record-breaking 320,000 works were submitted for adjudication at the regional level, with more than 2,500 students receiving national recognition.
The following Collegiate students learned this week that their work has received honors for 2017:
Gold Key (proceeds to national competition)
Jane Fergusson “Drop” (Sculpture)
Julia Mitchell “You Built Palaces out of Paragraphs” (Sculpture)
