Faculty & Staff Shine in Cougar Classic

Who knew that Head of School Keith Evans could pass and shoot with the best of the baskeball pros on campus? We all did -- we've known it for the 15 years he has been at Collegiate, and last night was his final appearance at the annual faculty/staff basketball game, the Cougar Classic.
As a member of the winning Green team (they won narrowly, 55-53), Mr. Evans shared the glory with high scorers including Upper School history teacher Kevin Coffey, Middle School humanities teacher Charlie Williams and Cougar Quest's Neil Etheridge. White team standouts included Middle School science teacher Farley Macdonald, special events and projects supervisor Wilbur Athey and Upper School religion teacher Brian Justice who was once a Cougar basketball star back in the day (circa 1985). Most-spirited player: Laura Fields with her green/gold pompom-headband and Cougar tail bouncing as she ran down the court. MVP: Sarah Hyslop (White team).

Mr. Evans summed up his last Cougar Classic: "Compelling competition, no one got hurt ... best Cougar Classic ever!" Thanks to Middle School history teacher and Development Office assistant Shep Lewis for rounding up the faculty and staff players, to the Upper School students who officiated and to the Parents' Association for organizing pre-game activities.
