Head of School Keith Evans announced today that Collegiate's Associate Head of School Lindy Williams has been named Head of School at St. Margaret's School in Tappahannock, Va.
St. Margaret's is a girls' boarding school and part of the network of Episcopal Church schools in Virginia that also counts St. Catherine's, St. Christopher's, Christchurch, St. Stephen's & St. Agnes and Stuart Hall among its members.
"While we will miss our good friend and colleague, the good news is that Lindy will remain close enough that we will cross paths often," said Mr. Evans in his announcement. "I am eager to see all that Lindy and the St. Margaret's community will accomplish in the years ahead. Her appointment begins July 1, 2013, so we will take the opportunity in the spring for a celebratory send-off and farewell. For now, please join me in congratulating Lindy on this new adventure and St. Margaret's School on making such a wise choice!"
With more than 20 years in administration at independent schools and universities, Lindy joined Collegiate School in July 2001. She is responsible for a variety of projects including coordinating the recruitment and hiring of faculty and staff and overseeing our expansive auxiiary programs -- SummerQuest, Cougar Quest (after-school) and Cougar Care (faculty child care). Her daughter Ali is a 2012 Collegiate graduate, and her husband Chris is our athletics field and equipment coordinator.
