Claiborne Stokes '78 yesterday was re-elected commonwealth's attorney for Goochland County.
He has served in the commonwealth's attorney's office since 1994 and has held the top post since November 2004.
"It's very humbling to run for election and win," Stokes said. "I'm gratified by the support and hope I can live up to that support.
"Goochland is a very safe county, and my job is made easier by excellent police work and by the good citizens of the county."
Stokes, who was running unopposed, earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond in 1982 and his law degree from the University of Virginia in 1989.
