Pamela Lowe

12 years

I am so honored to be asked to talk to you about my dear colleague and friend, Pamela Lowe.

We were lead teachers together in Kindergarten for several years, but I didn’t get to know Pamela well until she moved to First Grade in 2015 and became my assistant.  It didn’t take long for me to realize that I had won the lottery.

Pamela is an incredibly talented teacher. When you watch her with young children it is clear that she knows how to create just the right blend of seriousness and fun in the classroom. Her students adore her and are drawn to her because of the special connections she makes with them.

Pamela taught me many lessons as a teacher, mother, daughter and friend. She is kind, loving, patient and thoughtful. Pamela has a wicked sense of humor and brings laughter and brightens the mood of people who are with her.

In 2016 when I had a terrible head injury, Pamela was my rock. I only managed to return to teaching because Pamela stepped in and supported me repeatedly through that challenging time. All I had to do was look at Pamela and she would automatically know just how much to intervene in order to help me keep my pride intact.

Over the years we taught together, no request I made was ever too much. Pamela always says, “Sure thing!”, when you ask her to do something, no matter what. Pamela has many talents and her creativity is brilliant. I cannot count the number of times I said, “Do you have any good ideas how to do….?”, and sure enough the next day Pamela would arrive with an incredible project she had created for our class to try.

Pamela, will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you, Pamela for everything you have done for me and for our school. You will be missed so much.
