Explore nature through drawing and writing as you spend time outside on the Collegiate campus. You will make your own nature journal, learn and practice drawing techniques, and write about what you experience in nature. Using pencil and watercolor as your primary materials you will observe and then draw your representations of plants, animals, and the natural landscape.

Ms. Anne Walker, a 24-year high school art teacher from Baltimore, Maryland, earned a BA in Studio Art from Notre Dame of Maryland University and an MFA in Painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art. She currently works with the kindergarteners in Quest and is a freelance artist. Ms. Walker paints local landscapes of farms near Richmond, scenes along the James River, and portraits of people and pets. Her favorite things to do when not teaching or painting are spending time with her three grandchildren, hiking in the local state parks with her dog, Finn, and gardening.
