En Plein Aire: Sketch – Draw – Paint – Repeat
Amazing art inspired by the great outdoors! Artists will spend time sketching scenes from around Collegiate observing and documenting what they see and feel. They will create their own sketchbook on day one and then use this as they learn how to identify line, shape, value, color, texture, etc. Art will be started outdoors with quick sketches and finished in the studio with marker, colored pencil, acrylic and acrylic paints. In the event mother-nature does not cooperate, campers will create from life in the studio using images, objects and subjects that are found in the outdoors.

This week begins with learning key techniques and color mixing strategies when using watercolor. Throughout the week, artists will be introduced to a variety of interesting tools that create amazing effects that create texture, pattern, movement and more. Artists will choose from a wide variety of subject matter provided by the instructor or they are free to bring their own inspirations for each masterpiece. Paintings will be completed on panels, canvas, paper and more. For everyone who loves to paint, this week is for you!

All new for Summer Quest 2026, this is for the artist who loves to build and wants to stretch their imagination and creativity! This amazing week will include art that incorporates everything 3-D. The sculptures that you will create include wood, wire, nylon, aluminum, paper, and much more. From a glass-inspired tower, to a topographic masterpiece, from painted paper to transformed plastics, sculpture has never been so much fun! This camp promises to be a blast.

Artists will combine skills in drawing, painting and media management to create beautiful works of art. Your choices of style, color, shape, pattern and more will be sure to impress.
