The Class of 2016 continued Collegiate’s impressive rate of college acceptances. Over the past 10 years, our admit rate has been remarkably consistent, averaging 2 out of every 3 applications resulting in acceptances. In addition to our strong Ivy League results in 2016, with 6 acceptances, our admit rates continued to exceed the institutional rates in every Barron’s benchmark category, by an average of 14%.
Barron’s “Most Competitive” Category:
Colleges accepting less than 33%, Collegiate’s accept rate: 47%
Barron’s “Highly Competitive” Category:
Colleges accepting less than 50%, Collegiate’s accept rate: 79%
Barron’s “Very Competitive” Category:
Colleges accepting less than 75%, Collegiate’s accept rate: 87%
Barron’s “Competitive” Category:
Colleges accepting less than 85%, Collegiate’s accept rate: 95%
Impressively, 75% of our seniors received at least one acceptance in the top two Barron’s categories – “Most Competitive” and “Highly Competitive” – representing the most selective 7% of all 4-year institutions nationwide.
More importantly, our seniors continue to pursue and find many great options for “fit:” in 2016, 126 seniors received 512 acceptances to 141 colleges, and enrolled in 49 colleges in 24 different states from Maine to California. Such wide-sweeping geographic distribution is compelling, as are the distinct and highly selective majors in which the Class of 2016 will engage, ranging from engineering, graphic design, interior design, journalism, neuroscience, nursing, physical therapy, and social work to musical theatre adn the visual arts. Additionally, the class received more than $5.1 million in merit scholarship offers, and our 14 recruited athletes will compete at the Division I and Division III levels in baseball, field hockey, football, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, and track.
