Upper School Students Participate in Model UN

Collegiate Upper School students recently attended the Johns Hopkins University Model United Nations Conference in Baltimore, Maryland.
More than 1,800 high schoolers from around the U.S. participated in the conference, which divided the students into 31 committees to discuss and debate international issues.

Assuming the role of a diplomat for four days, the student delegates had the opportunity to understand the complexities of international affairs. Collegiate senior Ted Phillips was recognized with an Honorable Mention Award for his work on a Joint Crisis Committee, The Pacific Theater during the Cold War.

Ambassador Daniel Fried, an American diplomat in Foreign Service for 40 years, was the featured keynote speaker.
