Chinese Language Students Visit Terracotta Army Exhibit
Collegiate School Chinese language students in 2nd-12th Grades recently visited the special exhibit Terracotta Army: Legacy of the First Emperor of China at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
The exhibition featured 10 majestic terracotta figures, including a cavalry horse, among 130 works that tell the story of China’s birth and one man’s lasting imprint on a nation.
At Collegiate, native speakers teach Mandarin Chinese and offer a glimpse into Chinese culture, in addition to providing a strong foundation for language learning. Language studies are enhanced by field trips and international exchanges with Collegiate’s partner school, Beijing New Oriental Foreign Language School, in Yangzhou, China.
