Upper School Thespians Present Spring Play

In the first of this year’s two spring plays, The Collegiate Players will present Proof by David Auburn. Performances will be held in Room 136 of the Hershey Center for the Arts on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 23 at 8:15 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m.
Auburn’s Pulitzer Prize-winning family drama tells the story of an enigmatic young woman, Catharine, her manipulative sister, their brilliant father and an unexpected suitor. All are pieces of a puzzle in the search of the truth behind a mysterious mathematical proof.

On the eve of her 25th birthday, Catharine has spent years caring for her unstable father, a famous mathematician. Now, following his death, she must deal with her own volatile emotions; the arrival of her estranged sister, Claire; and the attentions of Hal, a former student of her father's who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that her father left behind. Over the long weekend that follows, a burgeoning romance and the discovery of a mysterious notebook draw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all: How much of her father's madness — or genius — will she inherit?

Tickets are $7 and can be purchased through the TicketLeap website or by contacting Kate Parthemos. Due to mature themes and language, this play is intended for Upper School audiences only.
