Seniors Capstone Students Prepare for Annual International Youth Forum

Collegiate School’s Senior Capstone class, International Emerging Leaders - Americas, takes place during the spring semester and focuses on the United States and Central America.
Students enrolled in the class engage in an in-depth exploration of Mexico and neighboring Central American countries as they prepare to represent Collegiate at the International Youth Forum hosted by Colegio Carol Baur, one of Collegiate’s partner schools, in Querétaro from March 22-30. After the conference and participation in the three-day Baur Interschool Model United Nations (BIMUN), they will have time to learn about Querétaro and visit some of Mexico City’s architectural wonders.

Collegiate alumna Elizabeth Harrison ‘17, an IEL - Americas participant and “Best Delegate” conference award winner, recently joined seniors in the Capstone for a crash course in Model United Nations procedure and ran a mock committee with them.

Each delegate at the Model UN will represent the opinions and interests of a specific country or UN organization. Collegiate students will prepare for weeks ahead of time, conducting research and writing position papers.
