Upper School Presents the Classic Musical, "Guys and Dolls"

The Collegiate Players and the Upper School Thespians will present a true Broadway classic, Guys and Dolls, for the fall musical. Directed by Steve Perigard, Guys and Dolls is considered by many critics to be the perfect musical comedy.
Set in Damon Runyon’s mythical New York City, this masterpiece of American musical theater is filled with some of the most-loved Broadway show tunes ever, including Luck be a Lady, I’ve Never Been in Love Before and Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat.

In the show, Nathan Detroit is desperately in need of cash to keep his “oldest, established, permanent, floating crap game” alive. So with the authorities breathing down his neck and Adelaide, his marriage-minded girlfriend of 14 years, applying equal pressure, he makes a bet with high-roller Sky Masterson that he hopes will solve everything. Instead, the bet throws everyone's lives, including that of the straight-laced missionary Sarah Brown, into temporary and hilarious chaos.

Guys and Dolls takes the audience from the heart of Times Square in the 1930s to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, to the sewers of New York City before finally restoring peace and bringing everyone their well-deserved happy ending.

All performances are in Oates Theater at 7:30 p.m.:
Wednesday, Oct. 25
Thursday, Oct. 26
Friday, Oct. 27
