Special Upper School Assembly Welcomes IELC Delegates

Collegiate Upper School students gathered during a special assembly this afternoon to welcome and acknowledge the 41 students from 10 countries visiting for the 7th annual International Emerging Leaders Conference (IELC).

Clare Sisisky, Collegiate’s Institute for Responsible Citizenship Director, addressed the audience, saying that since the last IELC, the last 12 months have been a year of challenges and a year of symbols, which can sometimes be divisive. But IELC, she said, is a symbol of Collegiate and one of connection, collaboration and possibility.

“IELC is a global gathering of who we are,” she said. “It will inspire us all to be the best version of ourselves, individually and collectively.”
