Collegiate Unveils a Renovated McFall Hall

After a year of construction and renovation, Collegiate School will officially reopen McFall Hall, the Middle School and Upper School dining hall, in time for the 2017-18 school year.
The updated and expanded space features additional serving line capacity; kitchen/preparation and storage space, and a larger dining area for students and faculty — increasing seating capacity from 300 to 450 people. The renovation also created two flex spaces that can convert from dining areas to seminar or meeting rooms. The generosity of several significant donors made this project possible.

Besides offering more room and additional indoor and outdoor seating options for students, faculty and staff to enjoy lunch, the “new” McFall will serve as a multipurpose space that can be used for various activities, says Scott Carson, Collegiate’s Director of Facilities Management and Construction.

“McFall Hall now has a number of spaces and systems that permit the School to come together as a community, day or night, for purposes other than eating,” he said. “It will be a fantastic addition to the Mooreland Road campus.”

The first event in the renovated McFall Hall will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 23, when Middle School and Upper School families, and Collegiate faculty and staff members, attend an evening reception to celebrate the new space.
