Upper Schoolers Embark on a Whales and Wildlife Boat Trip

Collegiate Upper School students participated in a Whales and Wildlife Sea Adventure aboard the Virginia Aquarium’s Atlantic Explorer and saw the ocean’s most magnificent creatures as they visited Virginia coastal waters.
Moments after students bellowed out a whale chorus, the Collegiate group spotted the first whales of the day – bottlenose dolphins. The 2 1/2-hour trip in search of whales, dolphins, seals and seabirds took the Collegiate group as close as possible to commonly observed species such as acrobatic humpback whales, fin whales, minke whales, critically endangered right whales, bottlenose dolphins, harbor porpoises and harbor seals, as well as an immense variety of seabirds and waterfowl. The field trip is a collaborative effort between Earth Society and Outdoor Collegiate.
