Upper School Students Test Technology Prototype

Mike Smith, a graduate student pursuing a Master of Product Innovation at VCU’s da Vinci Center for Innovation, visited Collegiate School to test a product idea with Upper School students.

Mr. Smith’s project centers on a game and companion curriculum that will teach hardware programming and embedded development. There are many solutions for teaching software coding and programming currently on the market, but very few for hardware. The low-fidelity prototype enabled students to evaluate engagement, game mechanics and preferred learning styles. Students provided very valuable insights that will help guide Mr. Smith’s future direction on the project.
