We are proud to announce Collegiate's 2021-22 All-Metro Athletes.




First Team:

MATTHEW JENKINS
Year: 2023
Position: Forward
Notable: Jenkins led the attack for Collegiate’s 21-0-1 state championship winning team. He scored a team-high 17 goals and handed out 10 assists during the season, including six game-winning goals. Believed to be one of the most dynamic players in VISAA, Jenkins was an All-State first team selection as well as All-Prep League and United Soccer Coaches All-South Region selection.

COLIN RYAN
Year: 2022
Position: Defender
Notable: Anchored the Collegiate back line to an undefeated season, a Prep League Title and Collegiate's first VISAA State Title since 2004. Named as a United Soccer Coaches All-American, along with VISAA and Prep League player of the year. Only allowed six goals when on the field and led the team to 15 shutouts.

MK MYERS
Year: 2023
Noteable: Myers was among the top private-school runners in the state. She edged out a victory in the LIS meet - comprising a handful of local private schools - in 19:42.30 on Collegiate’s home cross country course. She was 33rd at the MileStat.com XC Invitational with a personal-best time of 19:21, and she placed third at the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division I state meet at Pole Green Park with a time of 19:26.90.

MADELYN CURTIS
Year: 2022
Position: Back
Noteable: As a senior captain, Curtis establishes the tone both offensively and defensively for the Cougars. Along with being a strong interceptor and tackler, she contributed 11 goals and 7 assists. Curtis was named to the All-LIS and All-VISAA first teams and is committed to the University of Richmond.

IZZY LEE
Year: 2023
Position: Back
Noteable: Lee has the talent to play any position but thrives defensively with her block tackles, positioning and communication. Her hockey sense and poise has made her an essential part of Collegiate’s play off corners. She also scored a goal and 4 assists. An All-LIS and All-VISAA first team honoree, Lee is committed to play at Georgetown.

CALLIE ROGERS
Year: 2024
Position: Midfield
Noteable: Rogers is an extremely crafty player who scored the overtime goal that earned Collegiate its LIS championship this year. Her shot is a serious threat, and her field vision makes her teammates more dangerous as well. She recorded 22 goals and 4 assists. She was named to the All-LIS and All-VISAA first teams, and served on the 2020 USA U-17 national team.

Year: 2024
Notable: The VISAA Division I player of the year and LIS MVP led the Cougars to LIS and VISAA titles. Mendoza went 19-2 in singles and 16-1 in doubles, with her only losses coming against No. 1 singles and doubles opposition from Sidwell Friends (DC) and the No. 1 singles player from Episcopal High. Mendoza defeated Potomac High No. 1 Lauren Foster 11-9 in the VISAA team final, then secured the team title with a 7-5 doubles victory alongside partner Rita Taylor.

Notable: Beeghly earns a repeat position on the All-Metro team, scoring 44 goals and adding twelve assists to a Cougar team that pushed St. Christopher’s to the limit in both their regular season finale and their VISAA Division I state quarterfinal rematch. Beeghly next heads to Philadelphia to play for Villanova University.

BOBBY MARLATT
Year: 2022
Position: Midfield
Notable: Only one of three players in Cougar history to play five years on varsity, Marlatt moves up from honorable mention All-Metro honors thanks to 28 goals, 23 assists, and 54 ground balls, but more importantly for his leadership for Collegiate, serving the past three seasons as captain. Marlatt will take his talents next to Loyola University.

ELI PETTY
Year: 2023
Position: Defense/Long Stick Middle
Notable: A repeat All-Metro first team member as well, Petty’s size and length proved to be worrisome for Cougar opponents. Petty earned 87 ground balls, caused 59 turnovers while scoring six goals. The Division I first team All-State VISAA member, Petty has verbally committed to play for the University of Virginia.

Notable: The leader of the Cougar attack, Hester tallied 41 goals and 68 assists this spring, earning second team All-VISAA state accolades. With over 175 points in just two varsity seasons, Hester will play collegiately for Furman University in the Big South Conference.

AMANI KIMBALL-MCKAVISH
Year: 2022
Position: Midfield
Notable: The Cougar repeats on the All-Metro first team, adding it to VISAA All-State Division I first team as well as All-LIS, and a Times-Dispatch Top 10 scholar athlete. The winner of the school’s Reed Athletic Award, given to the top female athlete, Kimball-McKavish will next play in the Big Ten for The Ohio State University.
