Celebrating Student-Athletes on their College Commitments

Collegiate School’s Associate Director of Athletics Andrew Stanley, coaches, teammates and families gathered in the Oates Choral Music Room to celebrate four student-athletes from the Class of 2022 for their commitment to continuing their careers as NCAA athletes. Congratulations, Cougars! You make us proud.

JALEN PIERCE, BASKETBALL, MILLERSVILLE UNIVERSITY

“Congratulations to Jalen and his family. It is absolutely outstanding to see his journey from JV all the way to varsity, and now he is achieving a dream of playing college basketball at the next level. Our motto of ‘culture wins’ — he represents that on and off the court. I couldn’t be happier for this outstanding young man and his great family.”

-Del Harris, Head Coach

JAY SEEVERS, LACROSSE, WASHINGTON AND LEE UNIVERSITY

“Jay is a great player, and that was obvious from the beginning. But the determination, the grit and the overcoming of doubt that he displayed through the recruiting process was really noteworthy. He serves as an incredible example of how opportunities come when they’re supposed to and how hard work pays off. And you know that when things happen for the right reason at the right time you are going to see somebody really have success down the road. We’re really proud of you.”

-Andrew Stanley, Head Coach

DONOVAN WILLIAMS, BASEBALL AND FOOTBALL, WHEATON COLLEGE

“I’m so incredibly proud of you, seeing how far you’ve come as a baseball player and as a young man. It really is, from a baseball side, a byproduct of your relentless desire to improve. You always want to get better and you’re always working at it. I’m so proud of you for that. You work hard, you compete hard and you’re an excellent teammate. You have great things ahead of you in life.”

-Andrew Slater, baseball Head Coach

“It is very unique to have a young person go off to college to play two college-level sports. That is something Donovan wanted along his entire path. He is driven, focused, determined, hard working. I would say he is one of the most goal-oriented individuals I have ever had the privilege of coaching. I’m very proud of what he has accomplished. I know Wheaton is getting a very energetic individual that will bring his best in all areas.”

-Mark Palyo, football Head Coach

HUGH WILLIAMS, TRACK AND FIELD, HAMILTON COLLEGE

“Hugh has been a huge part of this program in so many ways. He has been family to a lot of the guys on the team. It has been really cool to see him become a leader on the team. He is an excellent middle-distance guy. He is going to do an awesome job up at Hamilton. They are getting a wonderful runner, a great guy and someone who has a lot of potential to grow.”

-Matthew Richardson, Head Coach
