Michael Lansing '22 Receives Humanitarian Award

Michael Lansing '22 is this year's recipient of the Touchdown Club of Richmond High School Humanitarian of the Year Award for outstanding service to his high school and community.
Michael was nominated by Mark Palyo, Collegiate's Head Football Coach and Dean of Students for the Upper School. Karen Doxey, Athletic Director, and Martin Parker, Defensive Line Coach, were in attendance at the ceremony and banquet on March 7, 2022. In addition to his three years on the Varsity Football team, Michael has served his community in numerous ways including:

Volunteer teaching with the Sarah Dooley School for Autism.

Leadership in the Boy Scouts of America, earning Eagle Scout rank, including fundraising $2,000 for his Eagle Scout project. Michael completed 500 service hours, served as a camp instructor and Senior Patrol Leader (head youth leader of a troop). 

At Collegiate, he serves on the Darr Davis Investment Advisory Board, was the recipient of the Iron Cougar Award and has achieved Honor Roll in Grades 9-12.

He also serves on the Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad, with over 700 hours on duty and being entrusted as Crew Chief and as a Northern Virginia Emergency Response System (NVERS) Government Contractor.
