The Lower School Recognizes Outstanding Work Performed by Resource Teachers

The 2020 Clarence B. Williams Award was presented to Lower School Technology Integrator Ellen Wright.
In 1994 the Clarence B. Williams Fund was established by Burrell Stulz in memory of her father.  The endowment funds an award that recognizes outstanding work performed in “special” academic areas by resource teachers in the Lower School.

The hard work, dedication and kindness this teacher demonstrates is noticed by everyone with whom she works. Her creative and thoughtful suggestions support students and colleagues alike. The calm manner in which she approaches any situation seems to take away the worry that might be felt at the moment. When things seem to be going wrong, this teacher helps to turn the page to a new page where a more positive direction can be found! This is her true gift.

Our award recipient is dependable beyond words. Throughout the year and all through this summer our honoree has given of her time in completely unselfish ways to support the needs of our School. Her offers of help came with a smile on her face and warmth in her heart. These qualities endeared her to so many in the Lower School and beyond the bridge. It is also obvious that she cares deeply about others and helping them brings her joy! She thrives in celebrating what our students can do as she leads them with energy, grace and compassion.

Finding solutions to problems seems to make her tick! When she is aware of a need or problem her thinking is triggered. She will work until she figures out either the answer or another way to make the situation better. We all depend on and appreciate the expertise this teacher brings to Collegiate every day. Professional, organized, and pleasant are all words that come to mind when this person’s name is called. So now, please join me in congratulating our 2020 Clarence B. Williams Award recipient, Ellen Wright.
