Student Created Virtual Reality Materials Enhance Study of the American Revolution

In the Collegiate senior Capstone course, "Technohumanism: Mind, Brain, Machine," taught by Jere Williams and Dan Bartels, students developed Virtual Reality materials for 4th Grade teachers to use in their study of the American Revolution. Previously, seniors interviewed teachers and students about their needs.
Weeks later, they led 4th Graders through five VR stations with recreations of Boston Harbor in 1773 and present-day Boston so students could see themselves there and discover how the city changed over time.

Fourth Grade teacher Joya Sellers appreciated the seniors’ work and how they shared the results. “I love the connection between the Upper and Lower School students,” she said. “The seniors listened to what we wanted and they did it,” she said.
