Collegiate Third Graders Hold Final Market Day

Collegiate School 3rd Grade students this morning held their final Market Day, where they sold upcycled products to raise money for a charity.
This last market, Cougars Care for a Cause, was held in Centennial Hall, with all profits of $1,362 benefiting the Tuckahoe YMCA in honor of Coach Coby Frye, father of Cole Frye ‘28, Boice Frye ’27, and his wife Karen Frye.

Many parents perused the items student entrepreneurs had created, including natural night lights, a cookbook, sparkling table centerpieces, sock puppets, eyeglass cases, cornhole sets and a stationery package complete with a thank-you card and get-well card, a pencil holder and a coaster. The market was a huge success, with students selling out of their products within 30 minutes. When his item sold out, one student remarked, “We got scarce!”
