Collegiate’s Third Annual Giving Day Supports Teachers, Coaches

Collegiate School held its Third Annual Giving Day, a 24-hour, online fundraiser, today.
All parents, alumni and friends were invited to make a gift to the Annual Fund in honor of a beloved Collegiate teacher or coach who has made an impact on them and/or their children. The event was scheduled during National Teacher Appreciation Week.

Throughout the day, alums, board members, students and friends dropped by the Alumni and Development Office to make calls, drop off donations and just say hello.

The goal was 500 gifts in 24 hours. Because of the generosity of donors, Collegiate was able to unlock a $50,000 matching challenge gift and surpassed the original goal. In total, more than 600 gifts were received and raised nearly $140,000. All gifts will be directed to faculty professional development unless designated elsewhere.

Kristen Williams, Collegiate’s Vice President of Development, expressed her gratitude for the many parents, alumni, students and friends who came together to support Collegiate and make the third annual Giving Day a record-breaking success.

“Giving Day is a time to strengthen the connection between Collegiate and our supporters, and to show our appreciation and gratitude for our teachers, past and present,” she said. “We are incredibly touched by all those who joined in this exciting day to support important faculty professional development initiatives.”
