Collegiate Faculty Attend Speaker Series on the Power of Narratives

Members of Collegiate School’s Inclusion Committee — Kate Cunningham, Liz Bowling and Erica Coffey — attended the Leadership Metro Richmond Speaker Series, Session 1: Finding Your Activism and Turning the Political into the Personal at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

Angie Thomas, New York Times best-selling author of The Hate U Give, spoke about her own journey and how she uses her art as a voice for activism. After a Q&A session, Ms. Thomas joined a panel of local activists and spoke about helping youth find their voice and ways to make their communities stronger.
