French Students From Partner School Experience Life at Collegiate

Since late January, eight Middle School students from St. Denis International School in Loches, France, have experienced life at Collegiate School as part of a partnership that began six years ago.
While in Richmond, the students are living with Collegiate families and attending classes with their student hosts. They also have visited Lower School classes and joined the cast and crew of the 8th Grade play, Willy Wonka Jr.

When asked about differences between their school and Collegiate, students remarked that Collegiate is much larger and students here have more freedom. Also, the St. Denis school day runs longer (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and more time is allotted for lunch (45 minute to two hours).

The group heads home on Feb. 21. Two weeks later, 15 Collegiate 8th Graders will travel to France during spring break to live with their St. Denis friends and be fully immersed in French language and culture.
