Collegiate Students Celebrate Hindu Festival of Lights

Collegiate School students celebrated Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, today during two assemblies.

During this morning’s Book Gathering, Lower School students heard a reading from the book Let’s Celebrate 5 Days of Diwali by Ajanta Chakraborty and Vivek Kumar. Afterward, several 4th Graders performed a dance taught by senior Esha Mittal. Following the dance, the newly formed Bhangra Club, featuring Upper School students, also presented a dance.

Later in the day at the Upper School assembly, junior Akum Dhillon gave a brief talk about the significance of Diwali. The explanation was followed by a dance by the Bhangra Club.
