Collegiate 4th Graders Witness Naturalization Ceremony

As part of their social studies curriculum, Collegiate School 4th Grade students have been studying all aspects of immigration though readings, discussions and a speaker series.
Observing a naturalization ceremony conducted by Judge Rod Young at the Federal Courthouse in downtown Richmond allowed them to witness a sacred part of the immigration process.

“Having the wonderful opportunity to bring the immigration study to life during the naturalization ceremony allowed our students to further appreciate the many stories they have heard about becoming an American citizen,” said 4th Grade teacher Jessica Catoggio.“The impactful experience is one that the students will not soon forget!”
