Second Annual Akolkol Storytelling Festival Draws Young Writers

Young writers from across Richmond had a great time at the Akolkol Storytelling Festival, led by John Dau, Collegiate's Global Scholar-In-Residence, in partnership with Richmond Young Writers.

The young wordsmiths listened to Mr. Dau share tales of African wisdom and strength, read from his upcoming children’s book and provided feedback. The attendees then wrote their own stories, leaving the daylong festival with a minibook of their own.
