If you’re a fan of The Mandalorian or Fortnite, this may be the camp for you. The Unreal Engine is the leading game design engine used to create games, film and video, virtual reality experiences and architectural and automotive visualizations and more. In this camp, we’ll learn the basics of the Unreal Engine and beyond. We will use Unreal to create interactive worlds and scenes and explore game mechanics as well as cinematics.
Each camper will have a dedicated gaming laptop to work with all week. The software is free to download and use and campers will develop skills this week that they can continue to build upon when the week is done.
Daniel Bartels is the STEAM Coordinator for the Middle and Upper Schools and Robotics Programs Leader at Collegiate. He has taught physics and mathematics since 2002, and mentored FIRST Robotics teams since 2004. Using the Unreal Engine and Unity for VR development is one of his hobbies.
