Sophomore Raises Funds for Cancer Research, Featured in RTD
Collegiate School 10th Grader Dylan Lyons was featured in the Jan. 11 Sports section of the Richmond Times-Dispatch for her efforts to raise funds for cancer research with support from friends.
Dylan formed a running group for the Monument 10K called Cougars Care when she was in 7th Grade. Through Cougars Care, she and her friends run together and raise money for the VCU Massey Cancer Center in her late grandmother's honor. Last year, 15 friends joined her and raised more than $14,000. They are preparing for the upcoming race in April, and the Times-Dispatch shares Dylan's hopes for garnering even more support from her fellow Cougars.
