| | When families begin their relationships
with Collegiate in the Lower School, the experience is almost always a
defining moment. Parents watch as the child who has been fascinated by
puzzles and crayons now plays with the building blocks of learning,
exploring the fundamental concepts of language, math, art, science and
technology. This focused exposure to the many disciplines of study is
an exhilarating experience for a young child and a solid first step
toward a lifelong journey of learning.
Between academics, athletics, technology
and the arts, Middle School students are exposed to a curriculum rich
in both depth and variety. From Cub Sports to self-directed learning in
the Educational Technology Center, the Middle School years are filled
with new ideas and increased opportunities. Students emerge fully
equipped to face the challenges of the Upper School.
The purpose of the Upper School curriculum
is three-fold: to challenge and engage students intellectually, to
teach them to take responsibility for their education, and to prepare
students for their academic futures in college.
We invite you to read more about our curriculum and to ask any questions you may have. You may direct them to webmaster@collegiate-va.org and they will be forwarded to the appropriate administrator.
