What options are available for financing my child’s education?
Collegiate School offers a need-based financial aid program designed to make the School's educational experience available to academically qualified students who could not afford to enroll otherwise. Collegiate is committed to being a broad and inclusive community. Our financial aid funds are used to enroll students who will strengthen our School and who will enhance our diversity (academic, artistic, athletic, cultural, racial, and socioeconomic).
Collegiate School uses the School and Student Services by NAIS (SSS) in the initial evaluation of financial aid applications. The Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) is the application used to gather pertinent family information. The PFS asks for specific information including, but not limited to, family size, number of children attending tuition charging schools, indebtedness, medical expenses, unusual expenses, as well as, income and other assets such as savings, investments, and home equity.
Collegiate School considers the SSS analysis along with its own institutional discretion in making financial aid awards. Our uniform document requirements allow for consistent and fair treatment of applicants and objectivity in application review. Submitting an inquiry or application for financial aid has no bearing on the admission decision.
Financial need is defined as the difference between your family's resources and the total cost of education. Collegiate meets a portion, but not necessarily all, of that need with its available resources. Tuition expense is the basis upon which aid awards are made. Families must reapply for aid annually.
You may apply online for financial aid for the 2014-2015 school year by going to sssbynais.org/parents or clicking on the SSS link on this page. Click on the prompt to begin your PFS. You only need to complete one PFS even if you have several children applying to our school. You will be given a username and password that will allow you to return to your PFS at a later date before submitting it. The PFS form should be completed online no later than February 14, 2014 for grades 1-12. Kindergarten applicants are advised to file by January 24, 2014. The SSS number for Collegiate School is 2494. The fee to complete your PFS online is $41.
The School will respond to the aid request only after the student has been admitted. Aid awards cannot be made without a complete file which includes all requested supporting documentation.
